WHAT I’M WEARING
DENIM MIDI SHORTS {AE} / SHIRT DRESS {HM -EQUALLY AWESOME ALTERNATIVE} / SASSEY HEELS {MACY'S} / FRINGE NECKLACE/ CIRCLE SUNNIES {ALTERNATE CUTENESS}
To be honest, the breeze this day was sooo stinking cool, and I was pressed about it because it was supposed to be sunny. I know this because I'm obviously a weather woman. I had my toes and my legs out and I was literally outside. Typically no matter the weather I don't plan to be outside long so I'm not pressed but obviously this was not the case today.
MATCHY MATCHY
In high school I was always on ebay trying to find that special shoe. That shoe that no one else had or at least another colorway no one else had or chose. It was literally what I spent hours doing using my AOL connection for. Stalking ebay for fun shoes that were fly and feminine. Urban approved. That was the formula. Once I found the shoe I had to find the "fit". In high school it was all about matchy matchy. You had to find the exact pink, the exact red to go with your shoes.
I've gotten to the point now that I don't have to search for hours to choose the perfect shoe. I also don't match my outfits down to my earrings and my toe polish. That typically comes across as dated. Again I really can not stress this enough. If you get nothing else get this. Just because you have red pants on does not mean you have to have red in your shirt, red on your earrings, and red shoes. Unless you are going for a monochromatic look and even then, it needs to be really simple, or really strategic.
Pop of Color
Red is your classic go to pop of color and it makes sense of course. Its a classic and you really can't go wrong with it. Who says you can't choose another color though. I'm obviously obsessed with these shoes so mustard is my chosen pop for my look. Switching up your pop color uplifts your outfit ASAP.
